Child Trafficking Baseline Assessment for the Child Protection Compact Partnership

Kimetrica conducted a baseline assessment on child trafficking in Ghana -- both forced child labor and child sex trafficking --  before the introduction of the Child Protection Compact (CPC) Partnership, a four year initiative between the Government of Ghana and the United States. The assessment was executed over the course of 2015. It included over 90 key informant interviews with government officials and NGO representatives involved in the rescue and rehabilitation of trafficked children in five regions -- Greater Accra, Central, Volta, Eastern and Ashanti. In particular, it focused on the existing infrastructure to combat child trafficking, as well as the availability and use of standard operating procedures, interagency collaboration and the availability and quality of relevant statistics and databases.

International Household Survey Network Data Clinics

The Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) provides support to national governments in survey design, data management and data analysis. Kimetrica was contracted to provide technical assistance to government statistics offices through capacity development to conduct national surveys, manage data, and data analysis and dissemination. Kimetrica's technical trainers provided regional and national level training to over 20 countries in Africa and Asia on comprehensive micro-data evaluation, data processing systems, survey methods, analysis, indicator selection and public dissemination policy. The project increased the ability of national statistics bureaus to manage national surveys, process data and use data for policy and economic development decision-making.

Methods for Impact Evaluation: AGRA Baseline Surveys

The Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) works to achieve food security in Africa through the promotion of rapid, sustainable, agricultural growth with a focus on smallholder farmers. AGRA aims to ensure that smallholders have what they need to succeed: good seeds and healthy soil, access to markets, information, financing, storage, transport, and policies that provide them with comprehensive support. To help AGRA measure the impact of its initiatives, Kimetrica's monitoring and evaluation team developed survey instruments and methods for baseline surveys in 10 countries in Africa. The project included the development of survey tools to capture results-based metrics for measuring the impact of AGRA's agriculture related interventions. Kimetrica's survey team conducted pilot tests of instruments and liaised with AGRA staff and consultants on issues related to the rollout and survey implementation of the program.
